The Suffolk County Police Department issued an alert on Thursday, cautioning that from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, Main Street will be closed in both directions between Route 111 and Maple Avenue for the annual celebration.
Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes as the town prepares for a day of events.
During Smithtown Day, there will be more than a dozen vendors and food booths set up for local residents. There will also be children’s playing areas, face painters and entertainment throughout the day.
